Biography

Principal conductor of New Chamber St.Petersburg Philharmonic orchestra.

Graduated from St.Petersburg state conservatory in 2011 as violinist (class of A.M. Kazarina) and in 2016 as Symphonic conductor (class of M.G. Kukushkin).

He is the winner of the International Violin Competition in Gerardmer (France, 2010) and the International Chamber Ensemble Competition named after D.D. Shostakovich in Moscow (2012). In the same year, he debuted as a conductor with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra receiving a semi-finalist diploma. In 2017, he was awarded a diploma of the International Conducting Competition named after N. Rota in Italy, and the title of laureate of the International Conducting Competition named after G. Fitelberg in Katowice (Poland).

In 2013, he became a permanent conductor of the Singolo Orchtstra, and in recent years, he has headed the Chamber Orchestra of the Honored Ensemble of Russia, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, of which he has been an artist since 2011.

In 2017 was invited to study in Järvi academy with Neeme Järvi, Paavo Järvi and Leonid Grin. In 2018 and 2019 he continued to study in the academy. Assisted to Paavo Järvi during the Japan tour of Estonian Festival Orchestra in 2019.

Laureate of 10th Gregorz Fitelberg International conducting competition in Poland (2017). Most respectful Polish musical critics Dorotha Shwarzman and Adam Rozlach wrote: «He was the only one who could infect the orchestra with his passion for Shostakovich (Symphony No. 5), that it suddenly began to play the way he did not play in my memory»; «It was one of the most fruitful competition performances.»

In recognition of the merit of the young conductor, Yuri Temirkanov trusted Yaroslav to lead St.Petersburg Philharmonic orchestra during the concert series «Debut of a young conductor» which is relaunched in season 2018/2019. Decades ago it has become a springboard for Temirkanov, Gergiev, Jansons, Fedoseev, Jurowsky. 

He cooperated with Lucas and Arthur Jussen, Polina Osetinskaya, Amit Peled, Frederieke Saeijs, Alexander Rudin, Olesya Petrova, Pyotr Laul, Anastasia Kalagina, Miroslav Kultyshyev,  Narek Hakhnazaryan, Nicholas Baldeyrou, Nikita Borisoglebsky.
