Vittorio Prato
Biography
A student of Luciano Pavarotti and Dmitri Vdovin, Italian baritone Vittorio PRATO, – notable for his unique by its timbre voice and a brilliant theatrical talent, – performs successfully in both classic and baroque opera repertoire on the best opera venues of Italy, France, Great Britain, Spain and Austria, he is also a participant of the Rossini Opera Festival. Prato’s beautiful roles in belcanto operas such as Il Barbiere di Siviglia, La gazza ladra, L’elisir d’amore, Così fan tutte, Le Nozze di Figaro and others have been highly recognized by critics.
Vittorio Prato collaborates with leading musicians, including R.Muti, D.Gatti, V.Jurowski, G.Gelmetti, D.Renzetti, L.Maazel, A.Battistoni and others. He performs with English ensemble Academy of Ancient Music.
Vittorio performs at the World’s best venues. The most important debuts include: Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro) at the Staatsoper in Berlin, in Toulouse, in Trieste and in Bari; Don Pasquale (Malatesta) in Verona; Monteverdi's Orfeo (title role) in Lyon and at the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona; L' Elisir d'amore (Belcore) in Dijon; Così fan tutte (Guglielmo) in Lyon; Le Nozze di Figaro (Count) in Sassari; Werther (Albert) and Pergolesi's Salustia in Jesi (DVD Arthaus Musik); Mercadante's I Briganti (Corrado) in Wildbad (DVD Naxos); Rossini's La Cambiale di Matrimonio (Slook) and Donizetti's Maria Padilla (Ramiro) in Wexford; Handel's Giulio Cesare, Ezio and Imeneo in Genua and opera theatres of Montpellier, Paris, Wien, London and Madrid.
Besides operas, Vittorio finely performs a vast concert repertoire, which includes works of Händel, Bach, Rossini, Mendelssohn, Schumann etc.
The following operas are among his engagements in 2014: Les Indes Galantes in Bordeaux, Don Pasquale in Munich, L' Elisir d'amore in Bad Kissingen, Una voce in off at Liceu in Barcelona, Il Segreto di Susanna in Liege and others.
