Daniela Barcellona

Biography

Daniela Barcellona was born in Trieste where she did her musical studies with Alessandro Vitiello. After winning several international competitions a major career breakthrough happened at the Rossini Opera Festival of Pesaro in summer 1999. Her unqualified success in the title role of Rossini’s Tancredi catapulted her into international stardom and led to invitations to sing at the major opera houses worldwide. Her mastery of the florid mezzo bel-canto repertory is complemented by acclaim in selected French repertory and gala performances of the Verdi Requiem. Added to her already-full calendar of stage and opera performances will be several recording projects spread over upcoming seasons.
