Andreas Sieling is Organist of Berlin Cathedral and Professor of Organ Performance at Berlin’s Universität der Künste.

Born in Lower Saxony in 1963, Andreas Sieling studied organ, musicology, German and communications at universities in Düsseldorf, Halle an der Saale and Berlin. Since then, he has pursued his performance and academic interests in a number of fields.

A widely-travelled performer, his concert tours have taken him to numerous European countries, North America , Russia and Canada. Recent recordings include CDs of works by Charles Tournemire and “Alte Meister” in arrangements of Karl Straube on the Sauer organ in Berlin Cathedral, Jan Janca on the organ of the Gedächtniskirche in Berlin and Theophil Laitenberg on the organ in the Grunewaldkirche in Berlin. He is also a frequent performer on the radio and television.

Away from the organ bench, Andreas Sieling has a particular interest in Berlin’s history as a centre of organ music. In his doctorate, he focused on the life and works of the influential nineteenth-century Berlin organist August Wilhelm Bach. His edition Berliner Orgelmusik des 19. Jahrhunderts (Breitkopf) was awarded the German Music Edition Prize. He is also in great demand as an organ expert and juror at competitions.
